The proposed development site is north of Ingleby Way and west of Thornaby Road, adjacent to the roundabout access to Teesside Industrial Estate.
Lidl previously achieved planning consent for a new store near Blair Avenue, but this could not go ahead due to an existing restrictive covenant on the site. This new site is deliverable and would bring Lidl’s high-quality products at best value for Ingleby Barwick residents.
The proposals include:
A new Lidl store built to our very latest specification, including modern in-store facilities like Lidl’s popular bakery and a sales area including your favourite products
120 customer parking spaces including 6 accessible, 9 parent & child bays, 2 EV chargers, and cycle parking
A new landscaping scheme will propose new planting on the boundaries where possible to enhance the site
Around 40 jobs for local people, including full and part-time roles. Lidl GB pay rates for hourly-paid colleagues is a minimum of £12.75 per hour, increasing to £13.65 with length of service
Lidl has an ongoing commitment to enhance the environmental sustainability of its stores. A range of technology is used in store to minimise energy use, while rapid electric vehicle chargers are provided in the parking area and solar panels installed on the roof
